Integrated management

Project will measure the social and environmental impact generated by Natura and its value chain

In 2010, Natura invested in developing a methodology to quantify its socio-environmental impacts, that is, to establish the monetary value of the positive and negative impacts caused by the company's main suppliers in function of demand from Natura. This analysis generated indicators that were incorporated into the platform for selecting and managing these business partners. In 2013, the company also applied a valuation methodology to compare the more sustainable production of the Amazon palm (plant from which palm oil is derived) with the traditional production model.

Based on experiences such as these, in 2014 Natura will initiate a new cycle to expand impact valuation. The intention is to assess the externalities generated by the company and its value chain, encompassing environmental and social questions, and driving progress in TBL (triple bottom line) management. Based on a systemic vision, this information will influence decision making and risk and opportunity assessment in the company, helping to define new strategic and business paths.
